Prominent Maine artist and textile designer Erin Flett to speak in Yarmouth

Recognized for her bold and colorful lifestyle brand, Erin will share stories about art and entrepreneurship during an event hosted by Yarmouth Arts Alliance.

Erin Flett, a Maine-based textile designer known for her vibrant lifestyle brand, will be the guest speaker at “An Evening with the Artist: Erin Flett,” hosted by Yarmouth Arts Alliance on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 5:30 p.m., in Merrill Memorial Library’s Lewis Hall, 215 Main Street, Yarmouth. As Yarmouth Arts Alliance celebrates its 25th anniversary, the event brings back a popular speaking series from earlier in the organization’s history. The event is free and open to all.

“An Evening with the Artist: Erin Flett,” is an opportunity for the community to meet the artist /entrepreneur and hear her personal insights and reflections about what it means to curate a creative life and business around design.

Erin often expresses her philosophy of integrating creativity, intuition, and daily life in these words: "My life is my design, my design is my life." Her work features eclectic, hand-drawn graphic shapes and colors that she describes as “imperfect and organic.” She operates a retail and manufacturing studio in Gorham, ME, where her products – from pillows, rugs, and wallpaper to tote bags, hats, and scarves – are designed, hand-printed, and sewn in house.

“Erin’s story is one of amazing talent and persistence,” said Linda Horstmann, Yarmouth Arts Alliance Board member. “She began by hand printing textiles in her basement and grew that into a national brand with more than 200 wholesale clients around the country – and thousands of avid fans. Yarmouth Arts Alliance is thrilled to invite the community to come meet Erin and learn more about her creative life and business as we celebrate our 25th year by reinvigorating this exceptional event series.”

Erin has built a thriving enterprise around her extensive line of home goods and lifestyle accessories. Her designs have been featured in O, The Oprah Magazine, Better Homes & Gardens, and HGTV Magazine, and she has collaborated on exclusive collections with national brands like L.L.Bean and Anthropologie. Among numerous career highlights, Erin won the $100,000 Greenlight Maine entrepreneur competition in 2020 and was later named by Mainebiz as one of its 2020 Women to Watch. Erin’s work has been celebrated in more than 100 national and international publications, solidifying her reputation as a leading voice in the design world.

About  Yarmouth Arts Alliance – Celebrating 25 years

Inspired by the collaborations and events of previous community art groups, Yarmouth Arts Alliance (previously known as Yarmouth Arts) was formed in 2001 bringing together a diverse board of directors that included members of local nonprofits with an art component and the Town of Yarmouth Director of Economic Development, and Director of Planning & Development.

For 25 years, Yarmouth Arts Alliance has focused its energy on promoting the arts in Yarmouth and increasing awareness of the benefits of the arts for the community as art plays an important role not only in the future of the economic development of a community, but in elevating a community’s sense of wellbeing. Art simply makes a community a happier and healthier place to be.
